Commercial Drain
Cleaning
Let's discuss your project
Professional commercial drain cleaning for restaurants, schools, aged care, medical centres, shopping centres, factories and strata buildings across Melbourne.
Vic Plumbing & Drainage keep commercial drains flowing freely, so your building, staff and customers can carry on as usual. Our licensed drainage plumbers clear, inspect and maintain sewer, stormwater and grease lines of every size. We’ll work around your hours, explain what we find in a friendly, straightforward way and leave your site clean and tidy.
Hydro Jetting
Hydro jetting is our go-to for a thorough clean. A high-pressure water jet scours the inside of the pipe, washing away grease, silt, scale and tree roots and flushing everything through to the main line.
It uses plain water, so it’s gentle on the environment and suits most pipe types. Because it cleans the full width of the pipe, it also helps your drains stay clear for longer between visits.
Most jetting jobs are done through an existing inspection opening, so there’s usually nothing to dig up. We’ll set the pressure to suit your pipe size and material, and finish with a quick flow test to confirm everything is running freely.
CCTV Drain Inspection
A small waterproof camera on a flexible cable lets us see inside your drains without any digging. We can spot build-up, root growth, cracks or sagging sections and pinpoint exactly where they are.
You’ll get the footage and a short report, which makes it easy to plan repairs, set a cleaning schedule or share details with your property manager or committee. CCTV inspections are also a great idea before buying, leasing or renovating a commercial property.
Industrial Drain Cleaning
Factories, food producers and warehouses send a lot more down their drains than an office does.
Our industrial drain cleaning service handles larger pipes, longer runs and heavier loads, from process residue and wash-down silt to fats and oils. For sites with trade waste lines, regular industrial drain cleaning also helps your pre-treatment equipment do its job properly.
We’ll plan the clean around your production schedule and choose the right equipment for your pipework. If we find a pipe that needs some extra attention, our drainage team can reline or replace it for you. You can read more about our work with factories and food producers on our industrial plumbing page.
Scheduled Cleaning Programs
Regular cleaning is the easiest way to keep things running smoothly. We’ll look at how your site uses its drains and recommend a cleaning schedule that suits, whether that’s monthly, quarterly or once a year.
A scheduled program is especially handy for:
Restaurants, cafes and commercial kitchens with grease traps
Shopping centres and food courts
Aged care facilities, schools and medical centres
Car washes and sites with wash bays
Factories and food production sites
Each visit is logged with notes and recommendations, so you’ve always got an up-to-date record for your maintenance files.

Commercial Drain Cleaning FAQs
How often should commercial drains be cleaned?
It depends on how your site uses its drains. Busy kitchens and food producers often benefit from monthly or quarterly cleaning, while offices and retail sites may only need an annual clean. We’re happy to recommend a schedule after an inspection.
Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?
In most cases, yes. We usually start with a CCTV inspection so we can check the pipe’s condition and set the right pressure for the job.
Do you clean grease traps?
We clean the drain lines connected to your grease trap and can check that the trap and fittings are working well. Grease trap pump-outs are handled by licensed liquid waste carriers, and we’re happy to work alongside your provider.
How much do commercial drain cleaning services cost?
Pricing comes down to your site’s size, the number of drains and whether you’d like a CCTV inspection too. You’ll have a clear quote before any work begins, and a scheduled program can make budgeting easier across the year.
Can you clean drains outside business hours?
Yes. We can work early mornings, evenings or weekends to keep disruption to a minimum.
Do you offer industrial drain cleaning for large sites?
Yes. We clean large-diameter pipes and long underground runs on factories, warehouses and food production sites, and we’re happy to work in stages around your shifts.
What if the drain is leaking rather than slow?
If we suspect a leak, our commercial leak detection Melbourne team can find it using non-invasive methods, then we’ll talk you through repair options.
